Anglophone Crisis: Agbor Balla Files A Complaint Against The Southwest Attorney
He accuses the magistrate and the manager of the Buea Central Prison of maintaining without reason some people arrested during the events of October 1st. Despite the validation of the procedures related to their enlargement, some protesters remain still imprisoned.
This is a new serial that opens in this crisis that has shaken Cameroon since November 21st. Corporatist movements, we have plunged into an escalation that today makes us fear for the rest of the events related to the killings of men in uniform by people visibly ill-intentioned, motivated by the desire to undermine the efforts of the government and to confuse the spirits of each other. However a misunderstanding has just occurred between the now "spokesperson" of these populations and the judicial authorities of the city of Buea.
Indeed, Agbor Nkongho, and some Fako lawyers, have just filed a lawsuit against the South West District Attorney General and the Buea Prison Official. Indiscretions reveal that a total of 500 people were arrested on 1 October during demonstrations in several localities in the north-west and south-west.
While some have been released on bail by the group of lawyers set up by Mr. Agbor Nkongho, others who have completed all the usual formalities to be released on bail, continue to see their stay extended in the jails of the Buea prison without any reason.
For Agbor Balla, the attorney general in the South West courts and the director of the Buea prison are held responsible for this state of affairs. An attitude that pushes the lawyer to make his voice heard so that they also benefit from the same fate. While waiting to see if the complaint will prosper one imagines that it is a business to follow ...
Agbor Balla on all fronts?
In pole position since his release from prison in the company of Fontem Neba, Paul Ayah and others, Agbor Balla is distinguished by his speech that advocates the appeasement and return to normal in schools among others. Mr. Agbor visited some families who lost theirs during the events of October 1, attended the funeral and participated in conferences on this subject, which allowed him to go up a notch in that he openly opposed the descent into the field of a mission supposed to operate dialogue with social groups.
For him, the interlocutors committed to this task did not have any credibility. In this momentum, he openly defended Prime Minister Yang Philemon. Just last week, the Barrister visited some of those imprisoned at the State Defense Secretariat in charge of the gendarmerie, Kodengui Central Prison and the judicial police to inquire about their situation.
Among them are Mancho Bibixy, Marcel Amabo, Edwin Fongo, Germaine Dzenjoh, Fri Cristabel and Tita Eric. A very significant moment that has "regenerated my mind (...) reinforced by determination," emphasizes Agbor Nkongho Felix. Which means that the man does not intend to give up until these inmates have "found their respective families."
