Women Cricketers Face Zimbabwe, Kenya Test
NATIONAL women cricket team is in upbeat mood ahead of this year's ICC Africa Women's World Twenty/20 Qualifier that starts today in Harare, Zimbabwe.
The championship that runs to Wednesday, attract four nations, which include hosts Zimbabwe, Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda. Official from the Tanzania Cricket Association (TCA), Hamis Abdallah told the 'Daily News on Saturday' yesterday that the 14-team members arrived safely in Harare ready for the big battle."We are more than ready for the event and all players are in good health ready for two tough matches tomorrow (today) against hosts Zimbabwe in the opening match and Kenya later on the day," he said.
The team include Mwanaidi Ammi, Zena Hassan, Tabu Omari, Mwajabu Hussein, Fatuma Omari, Aisha Mohamed, Latifa Salum, Shufaa Hamza, Asha Salum, Winfrida Kelvin, Neema Justine, Catherine Dominic, Getrude Leopard and Nadhifa Hamis.

The 20-over tournament will be contested on a round-robin basis and each team will meet each other twice, with the team that finishes with the most points winning the regional event and proceeding to the global qualification tournament for the 2018 ICC Women's World Twenty20 in the West Indies.
Other matches scheduled for today will be between Kenya and Uganda in the morning, then Zimbabwe battle it out against Uganda later in the afternoon.
Tomorrow, Tanzania will play against Uganda and Zimbabwe will clash against Kenya in the morning before Tanzania lock horns with Zimbabwe and Kenya will face Uganda in the afternoon.
Monday will be the rest day and on Tuesday, Tanzania will again meet Uganda, while Zimbabwe will battle it out against Kenya in the morning fixture. Tanzania will then face Kenya and Zimbabwe facing Uganda in the final day. Teams will depart on Wednesday.
